Liffey Review Febuary 18

The season's spring comedy fashion kicked-off with Gussy Löwenhielm showing a lovely ensemble in natural fabrics on the Liffey catwalk. Patrik Westerlund had some elegantly tailored creations that were clearly a cut above. (Unfortunately supermodel Kodjo Akolor couldn't make the show because of his tireless charity commitments to promoting world peace.) Mathias Heldevik showed hints of the comedy rebel that shocked the Milan shows. Isak Jansson's collection themed both African tribal influences and a black latex retro-Batman look. Fredrik Andersson swept the catwalk with an Armani of comedy that was both sharp and elegant. Ingénue Emma Wessleus brought a feminine touch that charmed the crowd and Erik Hultkvist brought them to their feet with his classic look. London, Paris and New York will have their work cut out to rival a very much in-vogue trend from Stockholm.

Liffey Review »

Febuary 25
Some say its because it lies on top of an ancient Viking burial mound, others claim its a fault-line in the space time continuum, whatever the cause, occasionally The Liffey becomes a cosmic anomaly. The show started normally with Adeel Faqih and this normality lasted perhaps 2 minutes.
Then the most English of English gentlemen in the audience got to his feet and accused Adeel of being ‘a bounder and a cad’. Yes gentle reader we fell into the pages of a Jane Austin novel. Mr. D’Arcy now reached for this sword. ‘Was it something I said?’ enquired Adeel. ‘Indeed sir’ snorted Mr. D’Arcy. A lady fainted.
Adeel parried with his rapier wit. An uneasy calm fell over and the gentleman sat down again. ‘Maggan’ Hammar was next on followed by Thanos Fotas. At the interval gentlemen took strong drink and ladies fanned themselves.
The comedians regrouped and counted their casualties but the wounds were only superficial. Host Pete Taggart decorated some with Purple Hearts.
A rumbling noise was heard when the show restarted. This was the portal to another dimension opening. Emma Wessleus encountered the alien who’s first words were ‘show us your tits’. Emma fired back, ‘I can't they're not as big as your man boobs’.  The bitch-slapped alien 'Billy' was further subdued by Christopher Papastefanou and Zeid Andersson and disappeared back up his time-space hole. It was a night to remember at 'Laughs At The Liffey'.
